How do I upgrade or downgrade my Amazon Lightsail instance?


If you find that you need to upgrade your Lightsail Instance, you will need to contact support. Please let us know what plan you would like to change to. You will receive an invoice pro-rated. Please pay this invoice as soon as possible in order to upgrade.

Once that occurs, please schedule when you would like the upgrade to occur. There will be downtime as we have to manually swap IP addresses on the backend.


It is not possible to downgrade an instance. If you wish to downgrade, you will need to make a manual backup of all your data. We will have to provision a new instance and then move your static IP over.
