Dear Valued Customers,

We are committed to providing the most reliable and up-to-date infrastructure solutions at NodeSpace Hosting. As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure security and efficiency, we wish to inform you that support for CentOS 7 will be discontinued effective this week, as CentOS 7 is approaching its end-of-life (EOL) in June.

What This Means for You

If you are currently operating on a CentOS 7 environment, we strongly encourage you to transition to a more current and supported operating system. To facilitate this, we recommend migrating to AlmaLinux 8 or AlmaLinux 9. These alternatives offer long-term support, enhanced security features, and compatibility with CentOS, ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruption to your operations. In-place migrations can be done with ELevate.

Options for CentOS 7 Users

While we are phasing out CentOS 7, we understand that some may need more time to transition. Therefore:

  • Existing CentOS 7 servers can still be reimaged with CentOS 7 by loading from an ISO. Instructions are available in our Knowledge Base.
  • Support Assistance: Should you require any assistance or prefer a guided migration, our support team is ready to help. Please contact support to discuss your options or to initiate the migration process.

Why AlmaLinux?

AlmaLinux OS is a free, open-source enterprise-grade Linux distribution, developed in response to the shifting landscape of CentOS. It is binary-compatible with CentOS, meaning it functions identically, allowing for seamless transitions without the need for extensive reconfiguration.

We appreciate your attention to this important update and are here to support you through this transition. Ensuring the integrity and performance of your digital infrastructure is our top priority.

Thank you for choosing NodeSpace Hosting.

Warm regards,

The NodeSpace Team
